They were all tasked by President Hathaway (Stephen Colbert) to save the world against alien overlord Gallaxhar (Rainn Wilson) and his minions from obtaining the Quantonium and destroying the world in exchange for their freedom.

This may sound like a good plot for an animated magic movie but there are lots of clichés in the script. It could have been funnier and more enjoyable if only the scriptwriter included more goofs. I chuckled once, maybe twice because of B.O.B. but after that, I was left with an awfully boring plot. All in all, Monsters VS Aliens is a great animated magic movie for the kids. It is best watched in 3D so head out to the nearest IMAX 3D equipped theater.
