Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins is a continuation of the first three Terminator free movies net online. To add up to the confusion, it is also a prequel of the Terminator story. Set in the post-apocalyptic year 2018, John Connor (Christian Bale) must stop Skynet, the artificial intelligent system-gone-awry from finishing its job to annihilate the human race. Sure there are the lean, mean, killing oven toasters (The Machines); the fast-paced action and huge explosions; and John Connor but there’s something missing.

Unlike the first three Terminator movies, Terminator Salvation doesn’t have that certain Terminator movie feel because of Christian Bale’s mediocre acting (He should have changed the tone of his annoying Batman voice to take the audience’s mind off of Batman) and poor script which wasn’t believable to say the least. “My men died down in that hole?” What were the script writers thinking!? I think this line has been already used up in a couple of war movies! I mean seriously, they could have polished the script a little bit more.

As for the visual effects, it was really well done. The post-apocalyptic, desolated, gloomy, and dangerous environment is everything that it should be.

All in all, Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins is your average summer action movie. It is intense, a little compelling, and will satisfy you a bit if you are a Terminator fan. I have to admit I was not a very big fan of Star Trek because I was way too young back then to understand what the Star Trek fuss was all about. It’s sad to say that as the story unfolds and ends, there was no real moral value learned from the movie.

Another problem with Star Trek’s story are the unnecessary and unrealistic scenes (what are the chances of the old spock in that cave?) In the first place, one of the reasons why the Star Trek franchise became successful back in the day is because of the true science involved. I think if only the writers could have researched a bit more and used scientific terms instead of general sci-fi based terminologies, real and loyal Trekkers would appreciate the movie more.

Undoubtedly, this new Star Trek flick will attract non-fans to the Star Trek multi-verse. As for me, I will catch up and I’m getting all Star Trek movies and episodes from free movies net online websites and I will “boldly go where no man has gone before.”

When the animation studio Pixar made the first fully computer-generated full-length feature film which is Toy Story, they also paved a way for other animation studious to follow suit. Luckily, she met other “monsters” like her such as Dr. Cockroach (Hugh Laurie), an incredibly insane scientist who unfortunately made himself into a cockroach-human hybrid; The Missing Link (Will Arnett), a Creature from the Black Lagoon like lizard person; B.O.B. (Seth Rogen), a hilarious blob like mass brought to life by an experiment gone wrong; and the skyscraper-sized mutant larvae Insectosaurus. They were all tasked by President Hathaway (Stephen Colbert) to save the world against alien overlord Gallaxhar (Rainn Wilson) and his minions from obtaining the Quantonium and destroying the world in exchange for their freedom.

This may sound like a good plot for an animated magic movie but there are lots of clichés in the script. It could have been funnier and more enjoyable if only the scriptwriter included more goofs. I chuckled once, maybe twice because of B.O.B. but after that, I was left with an awfully boring plot. All in all, Monsters VS Aliens is a great animated magic movie for the kids. It is best watched in 3D so head out to the nearest IMAX 3D equipped theater.

From the ranks of movie super spies such as James Bond, Jason Bourne, and Austin Powers, another movie super spy is out to hunt and introduce the bad guys to a world of hurt. Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) is an ex government spy moonlighting as a VIP bodyguard. While respected by his peers because he’s one of the best in his field, he’s also feeling lonesome because his daughter, Kim, (Maggie Grace) is with his ex wife, Lenore (Famke Janssen) has already remarried and has a new family. Suddenly, both their worlds turned upside down when Kim was abducted in Paris by unknown men. Once again, Bryan has to revive his spy persona and killer instincts to track down and make his daughter’s abductors suffer. Let’s just hope he succeeds before time eventually runs out.

I had the pleasure of watching this fast action-packed thriller last night and all I can say is I was impressed by Liam Neeson’s great acting. His character is a fusion of Jason Bourne’s butt-kicking moves, James Bond’s fancy gadgets and MacGyver’s Ingenuity! I also liked how he projected the tone of his voice to suit Bryan Mills’ character which he is portraying. I highly commend Pierre Morel for directing this film. If you like great action films with a great plot and has great magic movie moments, I highly recommend Taken because it will surely keep you at the edge of your seats. Out now on Blu-ray and DVD.
